RAID Doest Not Show up in Windows Computer

RAID Array Does Not Show up in My Windows 7 Computer?
"Hello, I do have two WD 1TB hard drives used on a RAID array on my Windows XP computer. And then, before I upgrade the OS of this computer from this Windows XP to Windows 7, I do have unplugged this RAID array and installed it to another Windows 7 computer. However, after inserting this RAID array well to this new computer well, I just find this RAID doesnt show up in this computer. Honestly, after several checking, I just find it can be seen in both of the BIOS interface and Windows Device Manager. But, neither of these two hard drives inside this RAID array could be shown in MY Computer so that I even cannot access them and inner stored data till now. Do you have any idea about my RAID problems? Have I set it up there incorrectly? What can I do now to let the computer recognize it functionally? Thanks for any idea here!"

Hello, friends! Have you resolved your RAID array hard drive problems successfully? If not, no worry. From your description, your RAID problems may not be as terrible as you think. Go read the below article to see what you can do now:

Have You Downloaded a Driver to Set Up This RAID on Your Windows 7 PC?
Have you ever tried to install or use RAID hard drives on this new Windows 7 computer before? How did you set up your RAID hard drives last time? Have you download and update your RAID hard drive driver timely? In fact, like setting up a internal hard disk on your PC, when trying to use and set up a RAID array, you do need to download and install a driver there. Hence, if you do have never ever used or set up a RAID driver there before, immediately select and download one there. Merely open Google and search "intel rste driver" or "rste driver" to pick a compatible one. Of course, if you do have ever applied a RAID array there and installed a driver well there, in case that the established one is outdated, also download and install the updates well. And then, reboot your PC and see whether they will show up in My Computer of your PC.

Have You Checked Disk Management to See Whether They Are Activated Well There?
If your RAID hard drives still cannot show up in My Computer Window after applying a RAID driver there well, you may immediately go to Disk Management interface and see whether your two hard disks are displayed well there. Do these two RAID hard drives have been assigned with a drive letter there? If not, immediately right click them there to add a new letter for them. If these two hard drives just show as RAW file system or not initialized or not formatted, youd better not rush to format or initialize them before you smoothly recover any important data back from these two hard drives.
Please Note:
*As with RAW file system hard disk problems and not formatted hard disk problems, before formatting these drives to wipe everything inside, you are supposed to apply hard disk data recovery software to rescue desired data back at first.
*In order to convert RAW to NTFS for restoring the common use of these two hard disks, also remember to format them after data recovery processes.

Have You Partitioned and Formatted These Two RAID Hard Drives Well Then?
Have you partitioned and formatted this two RAID hard drives well in advance before you try to use and access them on your Windows computer? In fact, in order to avoid farther troubles, make full use the space of your RAID hard drives well and manage the future data orderly, you are also suggested to partition and format these two hard disks well latter. Really dont know such knowledge and straightly attempt to access them? OK! No worry. After backing up everything important well to another storage device, go partition these two drives into several ones and also format them well for the near future use.
Please Note:
*If you also do have no idea about hard disk partitioning stuffs, go download reliable drive partition software to help you. Of course, if you do have or know some computer experts, also go let them help you or give you some useful software recommendations.
*No matter which ways you choose to partition these two RAID hard drives, youd better extract all precious or valuable files, folders, photos, games and the like stuffs and make data backups on other available storage devices well in case of unexpected data loss troubles.

Have You Consulted Some Hard Disk Experts for Help?
In these days, not all computers support RAID hard disks and not all computers that have ever used RAID hard drives support all type of RAID hard disks. Hence, even when the new Windows 7 computer really has ever been installed and used a RAID array there, that doesnt indicate it will also recognize and read this newly inserted RAID array well. Different conditions of the RAID hard drive owners may have distinct problems. If all these suggestions mentioned above also cannot resolve your RAID issues, youd better immediately consult some experts for help. Overall, no matter what they suggest you do, always remember to rescue your RAID hard disk data out firstly. In the future, no matter you use the common internal hard disks or RAID hard disks, always create data backups on other drives or locations well all the time.

How to Set Up a New Hard Drive on Your Computer?

Need Set Up a New Hard Drive on My Windows Computer?
"Hello, what can I do to set up a new hard disk on my computer to instead an old and died HD? In fact, I have used this old HD on this Windows 7 desktop computer for several years and find it recently gets too many bad sectors which extremely negatively affect the computer performance. Yesterdays, the computer even shut down and restarted several times in only one hour. Therefore, I have planed to purchase a new internal hard disk to replace it there. But, I know not much about the computer hard disk and have no idea about how to set it up well on this computer. Do you get any clue to help me? Is it possible to set up this drive well there and also lose no data? Thanks for any help!"

Hello, friends! It is not difficult for people to set up a new hard drive on a Windows 7 computer without losing data. You are supposed to act carefully all the time. Go read the step-by-step tutorial below:

How to Set Up a New Hard Drive without Losing Old Computer Data?
In order to let your newly purchased hard disk work well on the Windows 7 computer and also cause no data loss, except plugging this hard disk and mounting it there, you also have far more steps to follow:

Step1. Back up everything Important to another storage device.
In order not to lose anything original, you are supposed to extract everything important out and save it all on another storage device at first. Is the "died" old internal hard disk still recognizable on your computer? If it is readable there, merely prepare another external drive or flash drive with enough free space and move everything important there in case that anything crucial would be deleted, lost or missing due to the latter operations. But, if this old drive cannot be accessed since the disk is not formatted or disk is in RAW format and asks to format or others, youd better apply hard disk data recovery software to scan and recover original hard disk data as much as possible. However, if your old hard disk is not even detected on any computer, youd better send it to data recovery companies or agencies to take all recoverable data back.
Please Note: No matter what your case is, always recover desired data to a different storage device in case of data recovery failures.

Step2. Check hard drive compatibility and computer configurations well.
Have you already purchased a new internal hard disk for this computer? If so, youd better first check your computer configurations well and see whether it is compatible with your PC. For example, merely check whether the hard disk USB port is compatible with your computer USB port, whether this new hard disk capacity is larger than the maximum internal hard drive size, and whether this hard disk has been designed with a compatible file system type, like NTFS or FAT32, etc. If anyone of these elements is incompatible with your PC, youd better contact the sellers and change another compatible one as soon as possible in case of potential errors. Of course, if you have not bought a new one yet, go select one according to your computer configurations carefully.

Step3. Plug hard disk well and Install computer OS well.
And then, now, you are supposed to connect this new hard disk to your computer and install the computer OS well there. Merely connect it to your computer with the computer USB port and install your Windows 7 OS there again. Of course, if you do need to change another Windows version there, also remember to download a virus-free one copy from the safe sites or locations. Also download and install the updates, if it is possible.
Please Note: If you do have no any experience about computer OS installation and also have no any knowledge related, always go find some experts for help in case of any potential OS problems in the future.

Step4. Partition and format it well there.
Up to now, to use your installed hard disk well as before, you are also supposed to partition this drive into several ones as well as formatting these newly created partitions well for near future use. To partition this mounted HD, youd better download drive partitioning software to help you. And then, also format these partitions (except the C partition or system partition) into a compatible file system type so that you can straightly use them to hold and manager your computer data well.
Please Note:
*If you do have find a expert to help you install the OS well and also ask him/her to partition it for you in case of any farther issues. After all, he/she knows much more knowledge related than you in this aspect, right?
*Please do not format the system partition after partitioning processes.

Step5. Set this hard disk as the first boot item in BIOS interface.
And then, in order to let your computer boot properly after changing the only one computer hard disk, you are also supposed to set the BIOS boot device correspondingly. Merely power on your PC and click Esc button on your keyboard till the computer BIOS Setup Utility interface shows on your computer screen. And then, choose Advanced BIOS Features to highlight Hard Disk Boot Priority and set your newly connected HD as the first boot item there. And then, press Esc button again to get back and go reboot your PC.
Please Note:
* Up to now, you can freely copy the necessary data back from the backup storage device when your computer boot up smoothly.
*In the future, also make computer data backups well all the time to avoid any unexpected data loss issues.

How to Choose a Good RAID Card?

Need Help to Find Good RAID Cards for My PC
"Hello, everyone there! I am looking for some suggestions to choose good RAID cards for my built computer with three RAID 1 array that is equipped with 6 SATA ports. Moreover, I am also on a budget. And what factors should I take into considerations while picking a reliable one out from others? Any advice will be highly appreciated here. Thanks!"

Hello, from my understanding, the desired reliable and highly qualified RAID card options for a PC     RAID array could be different according to different computer configurations, including the RAID array configurations. However, since you do give no detailed information about your computer configuration, here are several elements that you should consider when choosing a proper one for your PC.

How to Choose a Proper RAID Card for Your Computer?
Want to select reliable and compatible RAID card for your computer RAID arrays, right? OK! No matter whether you are familiar with computer RAID card information or not, here are some essential factors that you should take into consideration while picking a right one from others:
1). Choose a RAID card that is workable with Intel CPU or RISC CPU.
As with fast development of the computer technologies, not all computers are equipped with Intel CPUs or RISC CPU. Moreover, with different types of CPU installed, your computer also can require different RAID cards. Therefore, when searching for a proper RAID card, you are also supposed to check the CPU information well and see whether that RAID card is workable under your computer.
2). Choose a RAID card that supports IDE, SATA or SCSI connection
Like internal hard disks, the RAID cards also are supposed to be connected to your PC and the, can be used well there. Moreover, in these days, to meet different needs of different computers, the RAID card are also manufactured with different connection ports, like IDE ports, SATA ports and SCISI ports. Before you finally select one, always check your PC RAID array connection port type well and land a compatible one.
3). Choose a RAID card with proper storage space.
No matter which type of RAID cards you choose to use, you will finally use it as a storage device to hold your PC information. Therefore, just like selecting a right internal/external hard disk for your PC, the storage capacity also should be considered, right? Merely go check the RAID card connected on your PC and see how large it is. And then, you can also buy some new ones with same capacity. Of course, with enough money, you also can get a much larger one. Overall, you are supposed to make your decision according to your own conditions.
4). Choose a RAID card that will not cost too much.
At last, no matter what you are planning to buy, the price of that subject often should be considered carefully. Needlessly to say, you are also on a budget. Therefore, if you do make your decision on the RAID card type, you are supposed to check the price of that RAID card on different websites and see which one of them are proper for you. If all the labeled prices are too high for you, also think whether it is possible to choose one with lower price and lower capacity.
But, if you device to buy one on the shop lying in your blocks, not overt the internet, you are also supposed to consult the prices of two or more shops nearby.

Also Create RAID Card Data Backups in the Future
It is a good way for people to enlarge the PC storage space by using RAID arrays with different RAID card connected. However, no matter which type of RAID cards you have chosen at last, always get accustomed to save everything important on different backup devices, like some external hard disks, CDs, DVDs and online storage, etc. Why? When you do have created extra RAID card data backups well elsewhere, you do have high chances to completely recover lost computer files after unexpected data loss troubles, including emptying Recycle Bin accidentally, deleting files and folders carelessly, reformatting or formatting RAID card by mistake and more.

Recover RAID Card Files & Photos with Data Recovery Software
Have never ever encountered hard disk data loss troubles due to mistaken deletion, format, reformat, computer crash and more? You just do know some data recovery software can help recover deleted files from external hard disk, flash drive, SD memory cards, CF cards and Micro SD cards, etc? But, you just do not know whether the data deleted or lost from RAID card is also recoverable with the help of data recovery software? OK! Never worry! When you really unluckily lose important PC data due to accidental format, RAW file system error and virus attack, etc, you also can stop using this RAID card and go see whether your selected file recovery software is also workable to rescue your missing files and photos.

Computer Recovery Partition

Want to Know Something about Computer Recovery Partition?
"Hello, everyone there! I recently buy a new laptop and create four partitions for the future use. However, when searching related partition information over the internet, there are many web friends who talk about the computer recovery partitions and say it is really workable when some computer problems happen to us all. However, I do know nothing about such recovery partition and dont know how to create or operate it. Do you also get a recovery partition for your PC? How can I also create one for my compute? Thank you very much for any related suggestion here."

Hello, friends! If your new laptop is not been set with any recovery disk, you can create a hidden recovery partition on your own. Merely read more detailed information below and see what you are supposed to do.

What Is a Computer Recovery Partition?
Most of computer users do get accustomed to divide their installed internal hard disk into several partitions so that people could easily allocate their distinct data in different partitions based on their own needs or conditions. However, in daily use, except partitioning their PC hard disk into smaller sections for better data managing, people also especially create or set a special partition that often contains everything necessary to help them return their computers back to factory status when something bad or unexpected happens, like sudden system crash, virus infection, or power surge, serious PC data loss troubles and more. And that special PC partition is also widely called as "Recovery Partition". Moreover, generally, in case that the created recovery partition is deleted, formatted or damaged due to unintentionally operations and loses its function, people are also suggested to hide it till it is needed. Thats also why people often cannot find or visually see them generally.
Overall, the computer recovery partition really could be useful for you to restore your computer back to a desired point when something terrible happens to your PC.

How to Create a Computer Recovery Partition?
Also want to create a computer recovery partitions so that you can restore your PC even when there is a serious PC crash, system crash or related bad computer issues? OK! It could not really be difficult for people to add a recovery partition to his computer. However, in daily use, under different Windows OS version environments, people often do have different ways to set their computer. Therefore, youd better search for your solutions over the internet. Here are some detailed steps for Windows 7 OS users:
Step1. Back up all important computer data on another computer hard disk or external drive in case of losing data.
Step2. Choose or create a free partition as the recovery partition.
Step3. Download or install your Windows operating system on this recovery partition.
Step4. Reset your computer boot device order.
And then, hide this recovery partition
Please Note:
* When there is no empty partition for you to take a needed recovery partition, remember to delete or shrink your partitions with enough free space to create a special partition for that.
* If you do not want to download and install the Windows 7 OS again, merely create a OS image with some related partition image software and save it on this recovery partition.
* In case that your PC will find no valid bootable device to set up, youd better check the computer boot device order in BIOS interface after creating this recovery partition well.

How to Delete or Remove a Computer Recovery Partition?
You do have played a good habit to create data backups all the time and get no data loss trouble? Your computer hard disk is nearly out of space and the recovery partition extremely decreases the PC hard disk free space? Or your recovery partition is created by manufactures or others without your permissions? Really want to delete or remove this computer recovery partition right now? OK! Here are common steps for all Windows PC users:
Step1. Make computer partition data backups on another storage device.
Step2. Unhide your recovery partition if yours is hidden somehow.
Step3. Extract everything stored inside to another backup device or location in case of data loss.
Step4. Delete this partition in Disk Management as you often do.
Please Note:
* NO matter why you have to delete or remove this recovery partition, remember to create a recovery disk, CD or DVD instead, if it is necessary.
* No matter how good or bad your conditions are, remember to extract entire partition data to another PC or device in case of data loss troubles.
* Search for partition deleting, creating or removing software to help you, if you get no idea about deleting or removing your computer recovery partition.

How to Recover Data from Recovery Partition?
Have not hidden your computer recovery partition and delete or format it accidentally? Need recover data inside and also restore the common use of this recovery partition? OK! Do not panic! After deleting the recovery partition by mistake, you can go try deleted partition recovery software to retrieve deleted files from this deleted recovery partition. When you accidentally format your recovery partition, there is also formatted partition data recovery software to help you recover data from formatted partition with ease. Overall, when you really delete or lose something important there, go take chances with data recovery software.

A Bad Block and a Bad Sector

Is There Any Difference between a Bad Block & a Bad Sector?
Hello, yesterday, my computer took a really long time to restart. Hence, I immediately launched my hard disk diagnosing software and CHKDSK to check whether it was still OK! However, the software showed it had a bad block. But, the CHKDSK said there was no any bad sector. So, what is a bad block? Is it different from the well-known bad sector, right? What can I do to repair my hard disk with a bad block, not a bad sector? What do you want share with us about my case? Thank you for any advice!

Hello, friends! From my understanding, the well-known bad sector is not different from the computer hard disk bad block. What you are supposed to do now is to make hard disk data backups and perform a full formatting process there for the future use.
Merely read more details about the bad blocks and bad sectors below:

What Does a Bad Sector or a Bad Block Mean?
Generally speaking, the bad sectors, also called as bad blocks, are computer hard disk sections that have been physically damaged and often cannot be used to store anything. The more bad sectors or bad blocks your computer internal or external hard disks have got, the worse the state of your hard disk will become. Moreover, anything stored on the bad sectors/blocks are also not able to be recovered in most cases. Whats worse, in daily use, no matter how effectively or highly qualified your hard disk is, it do get bad sectors/blocks over time. Therefore, no matter what happens, always learn to prepare two or more copies of everything important inside your hard disk on other drives or devices well all the time.

Does a Back Block or a Bad Sector Indicate a Hard Disk Is Failing or Dying?
Really want to know whether a bad block or bad sectors indicates a failing or dying hard disk? OK! Generally speaking, though your precious files, photos, videos and other hard disk contents stored on the hard disk bad sectors or blocks are often irrecoverable, that doesnt mean your hard disk is seriously or even mechanically damaged and cannot be used again. Several or only a little portion of bad sectors or bad blocks often put a really small impact on the functional performance of your hard disks. As long as you do perform a full formatting process to label all bad sectors/blocks out and also create drive data backups well, you often get no troublesome problems.

How to Repair Hard Disk with Bad Blocks or Bad Sectors?
As long as your hard disk state is not too bad, even when there are some bad sectors or bad blocks, you also can keep on using this hard disk to store or transfer your hard disk information as before. And, to avoid worse troubles, like some data loss problems caused by bad sectors/blocks, merely copy everything important out and do a full format (this type of formatting processes often will help label out all scanned bad sectors/blocks and let computer or other machines write no new data there ) on this hard disk. Of course, you also can run CHKDSK to help you fix the related bad sector issues. But, if your hard disk is seriously damaged due to bad sectors or blocks and even cannot be recognized by computer or be fixed by CHKDSK, your hard disk must be corrupted completely. Go consult some experts for help, if you do reserve much crucial data inside.

Recover Data from Hard Disk or External Hard Disk with Bad Blocks or Bad Sectors
Your computer internal/external hard disk is asking you to format or is not able to be accessed properly due to bad blocks/sectors? Really need a data recovery before you format or adopt any measure to repair it? All right! Though it is not easy to recover data stored on the hard disk bad sectors or blocks, it is completely different to recover data from hard disk with bad sectors/blocks. What you are supposed to do now is only download and apply hard disk data recovery software to take original hard disk contents back as many as possible. Of course, you also should know, since your hard disk is physical damaged due to bad sectors/blocks, it is also difficult to rescue everything important back.
